A dream come true
… Eventually, there was a winner! The Thunderbird just couldn’t compete with the Corvette. And the best part of this contest was that she really liked the guy who owned the Corvette. In this case when she gushed, “I really like your car. Can you take me for a ride?” she actually liked the guy and the car! I was a happy young man who had it all, a beautiful girlfriend who enjoyed riding around with me in my Corvette. Could life get any better? Yes, it could get even better. Not quite two years later we were married, and she let me keep the Corvette! In fact, in the fifty plus years since then we’ve owned three more Corvettes. I’m truly a lucky man to have found such a wife. Did the ’59 Corvette win her over or was it my charm? Or is she a really clever woman who knows how to “play” a man with his cars?…
